Landstar System, Inc. is an asset-light provider of integrated transportation management solutions. The Company offers services to its customers across multiple transportation modes. Landstar provides services throughout the United States and Canada and between the United States and Canada, Mexico and other countries across the world. The Company’s services are delivered through a network of independent commission sales agents and third party capacity providers linked together by a series of information technology systems, which are provided and coordinated by the Company. The Company operates in two segments which includes the transportation logistics segment and the insurance segment. The Company’s transportation logistics segment offers truck services, rail intermodal services, air and ocean services and warehousing services. The insurance segment consists of Signature Insurance Company, a wholly owned offshore insurance subsidiary, and Risk Management Claim Services, Inc.
