Rivian Automotive Inc (RIVN)

Rivian Automotive, Inc. is a US company that makes electric vehicles, batteries and charging stations for them. The company is relatively young as it was founded in 2009, so by the end of 2021 there were only two models in its catalog. However, they were still in the early stages of deliveries to dealers and customers, since production is still limited to just one plant located in Illinois. But now Rivian is considered the main competitor of Cybertruck from Tesla.

Rivian is also involved in collaboration on new models with Ford and Amazon. With the latter, it develops electric delivery vans.

The second potentially successful line of work is the creation of a network of own electric filling stations in the USA and Canada.

From 2009 to 2021, the manufacturer conducted 10 rounds of private investments, the last of which raised $2.5 bn for further production and development.

Starting from November 2021, anyone can buy Rivian Avtomotive shares as the company held an IPO by placing securities on NASDAQ. They are available under the ticker RIVN. The initial public offering was successful: with the stated range of $58-62, the price of securities on the day of the listing was $78, and trading closed at $100.73, beating the largest automakers, including General Motors. In total, the IPO raised an additional $13.5 bn.
