SPDR S&P 500 ETF TRUST is the oldest ETF in the world and the first in the US stock market. In fact, even the abbreviation SPDR stands for Standard & Poor’s Depositary Receipts, and it was under this name that ETFs existed initially. The fund is a trademark of Standard and Poor's Financial Services LLC, a subsidiary of S&P Global, and launched in January 1993. Available on the NYSE Arca stock exchange under the ticker SPY.

Investment objects are exclusively shares of American companies (geography of investments - 100% USA). The fund's investment strategy follows the S&P 500 Index, a list of the 500 largest capitalization US companies and corporations from 10 major economic sectors. Since the "original" index changes dynamically, the manager periodically makes adjustments to ensure that the shares of companies in the fund's portfolio correspond to those in the index. The total value of the fund's net assets exceeds US$355 bn. The overall profit rate for 2021 is 27.73%.
